I’ve been loving three of the tracks on Duffy’s new Rockferry album: Mercy, Rockferry and Warwick Avenue. The others haven’t quite grabbed me yet, but we’ll see. I was having a conversation with my American beau to whom I forwarded the vid and he was saying he liked the fact that she wasn’t a tart. I think that’s one of the things that’s really refreshing about her.

My daughter didn’t like her voice, but again, it’s got soul and character, even if it isn’t melodically perfect. Interesting article about the chances Duffy has of breaking into the US market.
