happy new year 2

I’ve set aside stuff to blog about, but somehow never really got around to writing anything. I think I’ve been conscious of having to do something else - anything else - away from the computer.

I thought, briefly, about writing a wrap-up of the year. It’s been one of those years. Like in that Chinese proverb about living in interesting times: tumultuous, enlightening, sometimes a little scary. Doors have closed and others have opened… that sort of thing. At the beginning of the year my 2003 horoscope said something about travel and job changes. I wish I’d kept that - I’d like to see what is in store for this year.

I’ve also been thinking, vaguely, of mid-winter celebrations and their association with light and had put a few light-related photos from Myanmar in the Gallery. That lead me on to thinking about the Buddist novitiation ceremony we attended when we were there and so I posted some more photos from that in their own album.

From thinking about photos I’m wondering what I could submit for Photo Friday, today’s theme being Best of 2003...
