sunday bowls

Around the corner from my house is a little park called Alexandra Gardens. There are lovely mature trees, a children’s play area, a large area of grass for people to exercise their dogs (and rabbits on leads today - incredibly, not ours, but a big brown lop the size of a large cat) and a very pretty bowling lawn. The bowlers in their white shirts and hats are an enduring image of summer. (More in “more” below.)
