that’ll show ‘em
It was quite outrageous that Cambridge District Council and the planning authority refused to allow a primate research lab to be built in Girton only to have John Prescott and old Tone ignore it completely. So much for listening to your constituents, especially with Cambridge being (until now) largely Labour.
The two groups primarily behind the protests have lodged a High Court challenge to the decision. Not that it will be built in any event, I don’t think. The University is crying off saying the costs are now too high.
Read the arguments for and against monkey testing. Knowing people as I do, once minds are set, any little argument that supports an intrenched belief will bolster that belief. If you’re currently on the fence, I can’t see how the “against” argument could fail to convince you that monkey testing is wrong and quite pointless.
